Treasured possession

Genesis 17:7  And I will establish my covenant between me and you and your offspring after you throughout their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be God to you and to your offspring after you.

Psalms 105:8-11     He remembers his covenant forever, the word that he commanded, for a thousand generations  the covenant that he made with Abraham, his sworn promise to Isaac,  which he confirmed to Jacob as a statute, to Israel as an everlasting covenant,

Luke 1:54-55    He has helped his servant Israel, in remembrance of his mercy,  as he spoke to our fathers, to Abraham and to his offspring forever.”

Luke 1:72-75     to show the mercy promised to our fathers and to remember his holy covenant,  the oath that he swore to our father Abraham, to grant us that we, being delivered from the hand of our enemies, might serve him without fear,  in holiness and righteousness before him all our days.

Exodus 3:15     God also said to Moses, “Say this to the people of Israel: ‘The LORD, the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you.’ This is my name forever, and thus I am to be remembered throughout all generations.

Leviticus 26:12    And I will walk among you and will be your God, and you shall be my people.

Matthew 22:32    ‘I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob’? He is not God of the dead, but of the living.”

Hebrews 8:10    For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, declares the Lord: I will put my laws into their minds, and write them on their hearts, and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

Hebrews 11:16    But as it is, they desire a better country, that is, a heavenly one. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for he has prepared for them a city.

Exodus 19:5-6    Now therefore, if you will indeed obey my voice and keep my covenant, you shall be my treasured possession among all peoples, for all the earth is mine;

Acts 2:39     For the promise is for you and for your children and for all who are far off, everyone whom the Lord our God calls to himself.”

It is not a trivial thing to be called a child of God or given promises of being treasured, or having God, with His own mysterious power, write His laws into our mind and on to our heart, or to be given an everlasting  covenant.

When fresh eyes of a persons heart see these and their mind understands them for the first time, they might rightly ask ,how can a person live a single day of their live without this being the first thing they think of and the last thing they reflect upon each day?  How can any thing of this world over shadow and diminish the wonder of such knowledge?

God’s word is fulfilling if we allow it a place in our heart and mind.  Through it’s place in our heart, temporal things of this live will not permeate through and occupy our heart and mind.   Perspective of this live will take on a refreshing of daily satisfying purpose.

We have been great and precious promises to comfort, encourage, direct, empower, and feed our soul.  Food never eaten will never be digested and add any value to the body.  A light never turned on will never give protect us from dangers on the path before us.  Water, the living water of His word will never refresh our soul if it is not taken into the body.

Do not let a day pass without feeding your soul and mind with the bread of life and living water of His word.
